Posted: 30 September 2008
Honeywell has won a contract to install a new process safety system at DONG Oil Pipe A/S' facility in West Jylland, Denmark.
The eighteen-month project sees the replacement of existing systems with Honeywell's Safety Manager, which is expected to enhance the already excellent performance and safety levels at the site.
DONG Oil Pipe A/S is wholly-owned by DONG Energy A/S Oil Company, one of the leading energy groups in Northern Europe. The company is focused on procuring, producing, distributing and selling energy and related products in Northern Europe.
"DONG Oil is proud to have an excellent safety record while maintaining excellent production output. We have taken this opportunity to refresh our systems with the latest technologies to ensure that we can maintain the standards to which we, our employees and our customers have become accustomed long into the future," said Soren Dalsager, senior engineer and project manager for the DONG Oil Pipe project, DONG Energy A/S.
"This is the first time we have worked with Honeywell and we are looking forward to benefiting from their expertise and experience."
Honeywell’s Safety Manager is expected to enable DONG Oil Pipe to continue delivering safety assurances and production up-time while reducing the cost of compliance and providing productivity tools that help to manage the operation and the safety of the site.
Honeywell's Safety Manager is designed to meet stringent functional safety standards and is based on Quadruple Modular Redundant (QMR) diagnostic-based technology that increases diagnostic messaging capabilities and improves system fault tolerance for any critical application.
"We are well positioned to help oil and gas companies like DONG Oil comply with ever-tougher industry standards and regulations," said Seth Bergstrom, sales manager, Honeywell Scandinavia.
"DONG Oil has an impeccable safety record, and the implementation of Safety Manager should help the company continue to meet these standards while also helping to reduce the cost of industry compliance."
