SPL Customer Care & Billing expands functionality with Java
Posted: 26 June 2006
SPL WorldGroup, reported that the new version of its popular SPL Customer Care & Billing (CC&B) software, CC&B V2.0, is fully enabled for Java.
CC&B V2.0 significantly expands customers’ hardware options while reducing the cost of integrating CC&B with other applications in utility management.
CC&B V2.0 provides new upgraded billing and customer care functionality, including enhancements to SPL’s ‘Practical CRM’ software, which helps achieve customer, revenue, service, and profitability goals without the need to invest in a CRM product separate from billing.
The new version also provides users to simultaneously lower costs and increase customer satisfaction via Web portals and AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript And XML) Web pages.
“Our ability to combine this level of technology change with preservation of customer investments rests on SPL’s robust services-oriented architecture (SOA), with its solid reliance on web services, object orientation, and a dynamic, configurable, metadata-driven model that minimises coding,” said Brenton McPherson, Managing Director Asia Pacific, SPL WorldGroup.
CC&B V2.0 bolsters SPL’s longstanding API orientation by incorporating Java's many APIs, which efficiently accommodate today’s increasingly flexible business process requirements.
It also adheres to SPL’s practice of providing easy, fully automated, low-cost upgrades that move customers’ application integrations and tailoring (configuration) intact to the new version of the software.
SPL solutions in customer care and billing, enterprise asset and work management, mobile workforce management, outage and distribution management and enterprise business intelligence are specifically designed for electric, gas, water, and services companies.
