This major engineering and construction business operating within the energy sector is one of the most eminent and fastest-growing companies in its field. The company has won and delivered on a number of prominent and complex engineering projects in Africa and it continues to bid for and win new long-term contracts within the region. With a quarter of its business based in Africa, this global service company has decided to establish its Regional HQ in the UK.
Consistent growth and the bidding/winning of Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Construction, (EPIC) contracts across a number of global locations has established a need to recruit up to five Project Directors to contribute to the bidding process and to oversee the completion of major installations.
These projects could vary in value from $300mn to a figure in excess of $1bn and involve the provision of large-scale and high-precision engineering solutions, including onshore and offshore construction, often with the complications of deep water and geographical remoteness.
Project Directors could be based in the bidding team in Aberdeen or in the Regional HQ in the Home Counties, but they will travel widely and will spend extensive periods based overseas when their projects demand their presence. Whilst the bulk of the largest and most demanding contracts are likely to be in Africa, they could also be in Brazil, the Gulf of Mexico or in Asia. A truly international career path is therefore on offer.
We seek individuals who could lead major installation programmes, taking ultimate responsibility for all aspects of the projects including the commercial, technical, logistic and human elements. Candidates must therefore have experience of leading significant infrastructure projects with a capital expenditure in excess of $200mn. Whilst your core skills could be commercial or technical, it is likely that you posses a high-level understanding of engineering and project management.
When planning is the crucial element to success and health & safety is truly mission critical, you must be able to demonstrate your experience of planning, delivering and making a commercial success of infrastructure projects on an international scale.
Whilst Oil and Gas or Offshore experience would be useful, your background could equally have been served delivering on major civil / structural engineering projects.
