Gastech 2008

The Fuelling the Future student programme at Gastech 2008 (10-13 March 2008, Bangkok, Thailand) is set for success.
The programme will operate on the final two days of this milestone event in Thailand, and is dedicated to final year university students from around the world who are interested in pursuing a career within the international gas industry following graduation.
A website has been set up aimed at students wanting to join the programme and at prospective sponsors
"By working with key companies within the industry, top students from around the world will be funded to attend Gastech 2008 on this exclusive programme," said Event Director, Tony Stephenson of dmg world media, organisers of Gastech.
"This is very much a win:win situation for both the sponsoring companies and the students. Sponsors, who already include ABS have exclusive access to students on the programme and are thus able to recruit from some of the leading universities around the world. Students gain an invaluable educational introduction into the gas industry and are able to network with a range of international companies from the gas community while discovering how they can become part of that community once they have graduated."
Students taking part in the Fuelling the Future initiative will arrive in Bangkok on 11 March.
Their dedicated programme on 12 and 13 March will include:
- overviews of the LNG, LPG and natural gas industries by industry professionals
- presentations by sponsors of the scheme
- the opportunity to attend selected parts of the Gastech conference programme
- guided tours of the exhibition
- social and networking events
The inaugural programme at Gastech 2006 attracted 91 students from 21 universities around the world.
