The Condensate & Naphtha Forum
Posted: 8 January 2008
Qatar Petroleum will host the Condensate and Naphtha Forum, at the Ritz Carlton Doha, on 14 – 15 January 2008.
The event is held under the Patronage of H.E. Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, Deputy Premier, Minister for Energy & Industry,
The 12th event in its series, which has been held annually since 1996, brings together highly specialized groups of producers and traders of condensate and naphtha, by-products of natural gas and which in recent years have become a profitable niche product, given large volumes of natural gas production in the Middle East & Gulf region, with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Algeria and Iran amongst major producers.
Previously held in regional resort locations such as Langkawi, Phuket, Penang, Perth, Bali and Singapore, this is the first time the Forum is being held in Qatar in its eleven year history, to address important issues governing supply and utilization perspectives of this important product, given the use of condensate both in refineries in Doha and elsewhere in the Middle East, and as feedstock for petrochemicals.
