Fugro is, as the major sponsor, playing a particularly central part in the inaugural Middle East Ocean Science and Technology Expo (MEOST 2008) being held in Abu Dhabi, 21-23 January 2008.

The company will be demonstrating its wide range of expertise available in the Middle East region.

"Thanks to our wide spread of services, we are able to offer a fully integrated solution for companies in the Middle East region, as we do all around the world," said Mike Dravitzki - General Manager, Fugro Survey Middle East.

"Expertise represented on the Fugro stand at MEOST 2008, will range from offshore positioning and survey, seismic based reservoir characterization, metocean studies, environmental survey, airborne geophysical survey, airborne LIDAR hydrographic survey, and ROV services."

"Experts from every speciality will be at the show to explain the strengths that they can provide and explain how each of the services can link together."

"Our MEOST conference involvement demonstrates Fugro’s wide range of interests," Dravitzki said.

"Robert van de Poll, International Manager Law of the Sea will speak on Unresolved Middle East maritime boundaries and their impact on future oil and gas development and we plan a special workshop on this topic during MEOST too; Louise Ledgard, Regional Metocean Sales Manager will highlight The extreme values of total water level and total water velocity in the Persian Gulf; David Millar, Vice President Coastal Mapping and LIDAR Services, will turn his attention to Hydrographic LIDAR applications and challenges in the Middle East; while Richard Walters, Environmental Survey Manager, will be speaking about Biotope Mapping within the Persian Gulf; and Svein Erling Hansen, International Sales Manager, discusses yet another facet of Fugro expertise, Seawatch Systems for multi-parameter marine and near-shore environmental monitoring.

"Fugro are pleased to have this level of involvement with the Middle East’s first ocean science exhibition and conference and are greatly looking forward to a highly stimulating and rewarding three days."
