Manama hosts inaugural oil and gas maintenance show

H.E. Dr Abdul-Hussain Bin Ali Mirza, Minister of Oil & Gas Affairs and chairman, National Oil & Gas Authority, Kingdom of Bahrain, inaugurated the Oil & Gas Maintenance Technology Conference and Exhibition this afternoon, held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.
The oil and gas maintenance conference and exhibition is taking place alongside the 9th annual Pipeline Rehabilitation & Maintenance show from 10-13 December 2007 at Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.
After having delivered the opening keynote address, H.E. Dr Abdul- Hussain Bin Ali Mirza conducted a tour of the exhibition floor accompanied by the event director, Frances Webb.
“We are delighted to be launching this new event in Bahrain and are deeply grateful for the support we have received from the National Oil & Gas Authority, BAPCO and Saudi Aramco” said Frances Webb.
“We already have almost 800 registrants and expect well over 1,000 participants when the two separate conferences open on Tuesday”, she added.
Co-hosted by Saudi Aramco and BAPCO, the combined maintenance and pipeline focused events provide the oil and gas industry with an annual technical forum for maintenance and pipeline specialists from the Gulf’ s national oil companies, suppliers, contractors and other maintenance specialists to learn about new techniques and technologies being deployed in the industry, and share best practice with industry colleagues.
The conference sessions include managing and evaluating pipeline integrity, operational problems, cleaning and coating of pipelines, making repairs during rehabilitation, also rehabilitation process and procedures. Organizations represented in the speaker program include ADCO, BAPCO, Halliburton, Incal Pipeline Rehabilitation, NDT Systems & Services, PDO, PETROBRAS, Rosen and Saudi Aramco, among others.
