Exploration well on Ipswich prospect in Norway

Posted: 28 May 2008

The drilling of an exploration well on the Ipswich prospect located in license PL 274 in Norway has commenced.

Results from the drilling are expected in August. The oil and gas group PA Resources has a 30 percent working interest in the license.

The operator DONG E & P Norge AS has spudded the exploration well 1/3-11 on the Ipswich prospect on license PL 274 on the Norwegian continental shelf. The planned total depth for this vertical well is 3,380 meters MD. Results from the drilling are expected in August.

This is the second well that is being drilled on PL 274 by the drilling rig Maersk Guardian. Earlier this year, drillings of an appraisal well with sidetrack on the Oselvar discovery were completed. The Ipswich prospect is located approximately nine kilometres south-east of Oselvar.

PA Resources has a 30 percent working interest in the PL 274 license. Operator is DONG E&P Norge (40 per cent) and the other partners are Revus (15 per cent) and Noreco (15 per cent).
