PA Resources drilling in Ezzaouia, Tunisia

Posted: 29 April 2008

A new drilling campaign on the oil field Ezzaouia in Tunisia will see two production wells drilled during the second and third quarter 2008.

PA Resources has a 13.6 per cent working interest in the license.

The operator Candax Energy has announced that a drilling campaign is about to start at the Ezzaouia field in south-eastern Tunisia. The CTF6 rig is currently being mobilized from northwest Tunisia to the Ezzaouia field to commence the drilling of the two production wells Ezzaouia-17 and Ezzaouia-18.

These wells are targeted at increasing proved reserves and adding significant production. Upon successful completion of the drillings, the wells can be brought into immediate production from existing production facilities.

The Ezzaouia-17 well is due to spud by mid May and is targeting an un-drained, potentially significant fault block at the east end of the field. Ezzaouia-18 will be drilled in the west end of the field to augment production in the most prolific fault block in the field.

Negotiations are also ongoing to procure a rig to undertake a work-over program on several wells in Ezzaouia, to increase the production in the Cretaceous Zeebag formation.

The license partners are also evaluating the possibility to drill an exploration well on the Triassic prospect which is a deep lying prospect that is expected to contain several quintillion cubic feet of gas. If an agreement is reached soon, an exploration well can be spudded in 2009.

PA Resources has a 13.6 percent working interest in the Ezzaouia-license. Operator is Candax Energy (31.4 %) and the other partner is ETAP (55 %).
