Posted: 1 October 2007
Innamincka Petroleum reported the success of the Flax East 1 well confirmed that the Flax and Juniper oil discoveries are connected.
There is a reasonable possibility the Flax and Juniper discoveries will prove to be one of the largest onshore oilfields in Australia.
The drilling activity of the Phase 1 program is now complete.
All 3 wells (Flax 3, Flax 4 and Flax East 1) were successful and have been cased as future production wells.
The Flax 3 well indicated a 50 per cent increase in the length of the field as announced in an ASX release on 26 July 2007.
The Flax East 1 ST1 well has has been cased and suspended as a future oil and gas production well. This well has proved connection of the Flax and Juniper fields.
The fraccing program has been successfully completed with Flax 2 currently on clean up flow, Flax 3 shut in and ready for connection and Flax 4 in flow back operation. Flax 1 –will be put back on production prior to installation of the field compressor for gas injection.
Installation of flow lines from wells to central Flax production facility is scheduled for mid October with compressor installation expected at the end of October.
Innamincka’s initial production target of 1,000 bopd from the Flax oilfield by mid 2008 remains a focus with results from the Phase 1 Program giving confidence to realisation of this goal.
