China to build 30 new nuclear power plants

Posted: 9 June 2007

Rapid international economic growth has lead to an increased energy demand. As a safe, clean and environmentally friendly energy source, nuclear power has over the last years attracted the world's interest.

Aiming at building 25-30 new nuclear power plants within a short time and establishing a strategic uranium reserve, China needs for uranium.

China is looking for close international cooperation in the construction and management of the country’s nuclear power stations in order to fill the persisting gap between the current technical level in China and internationally.

This offers enormous business opportunities for foreign nuclear power companies in China.

The China Uranium & Nuclear Energy International Conference & Exhibition, held in Beijing from October 9-10, 2007, will offer a platform for information and communication.

The event is supported by the China Atomic Energy Authority (CAEA) and the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC).

All companies and service suppliers in uranium and nuclear energy along the value chain will be invited to attend and present at the event.

The conference will last two days, with feature topics on:

  • Outbound Investment Opportunities
  • Nuclear Power Investment Strategy
  • Providing Uranium for the Growth of the Nuclear Industry
  • Uranium Real Market Demand and Supply Situation
  • New Developments in Uranium Exploration
  • Uranium Mining Techniques and the Environment
  • Cooperating in the Chinese Nuclear Energy Market

Also, the conference will present an in-depth analysis of the current investment rules and regulations to the Chinese nuclear market.

High-level decision-makers will analyze and discuss latest requirements for a successful international cooperation in China.

At the same time, experts will discuss latest developments in the economics of the international uranium market.
