Andrew Reid to head new Douglas-Westwood Aberdeen office

Posted: 28 April 2006

Energy analysts Douglas-Westwood Limited reported the appointment of a new Director Andrew Reid and the launch of an Aberdeen office in the City's west end, effective 1st May 2006.

At Houston's Offshore Technology Conference today, Managing Director John Westwood said "Aberdeen is a key operation hub for oil and gas and renewable energy activity and is developing into a major financial centre for the energy industry, therefore this move is a natural progression to be where so many our key clients are based."

"Douglas Westwood is well into another successful year of operation providing strategic research and commercial due diligence to the oil and gas, renewable, marine, and industrial market sectors, and we see the opportunity in and around the North Sea markets is significant and growing strongly.

"The company is gearing up for this period of growth and Aberdeen operations are core to this. Our strategic plan is in place and Andrew Reid is an ideal candidate to help achieve that plan."

New Director, Andrew Reid added: "This move is a fantastic opportunity. I am looking forward to working closely with my new colleagues at Douglas Westwood as we progress towards achieving the company's goals. This is a much respected professional services organisation that has been working for 16 years at the forefront of energy industry. To be part of the team that continues to explore new and develop new strategic directions and markets will be professionally very rewarding"

With over a decade of experience in the energy sector having worked in oil service industry, investment banking, fundamentals research, and latterly in a mergers and acquisitions advisory role, Andrew brings a wealth of business, financial, and commercial experience in the energy sector.

Andrew Reid was educated at the University of Aberdeen and gained an MA(Hons) in Economics & Political Science, an MBA from the Aberdeen Business School, is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and member of the Corporate Finance Faculty.
