Energy City Qatar appoints Bob Moore as CEO

Mr. Bob Moore, an experienced industry veteran and business development expert of considerable international standing was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the multi-billion dollar Energy City Qatar.
Gulf Energy is a global consortium of energy experts and the sponsors of the Energy City Qatar. The appointment of Mr. Moore to the helm of the region’s energy business centre is in line with Gulf Energy’s strategy of bringing on board acknowledged global professionals to manage the pioneering development.
Commenting on Mr. Moore’s appointment, Mr. Esam Janahi, Chairman of Gulf Energy said: “Mr. Moore brings with him rich, cross-functional management and consulting experience across the energy industry and related sectors. Being a unique project, it is imperative that we bring on board proven management experts who are innovative and imaginative and will take the region’s energy capability to the next level. After an extensive global search, we are delighted that Mr. Moore has accepted our invitation to be CEO of Energy City Qatar.”
Mr. Moore is acknowledged for his commitment to building corporate value in the projects entrusted to him. A result-oriented management expert with over 25 years of experience in the global energy industry, technology, e-commerce and procurement sectors, Mr. Moore has worked extensively across various disciplines in many countries.
Prior to joining Energy City Qatar, Mr. Moore served as Principal Consultant of Supply Chain Services with Perfect Commerce. He also served as the company’s Director of Performance Management. Mr. Moore has also worked with Deloitte Consulting as Manager of Consultant Energy and Supply Chain, Schlumberger Oilfield services in various managerial roles and with Pantellos in various executive capacities.
Commenting on his role in Energy City Qatar, Mr. Moore said: “It is indeed a challenging assignment to work for Energy City Qatar. A project of such regional and global energy significance needs cohesive team work and dedication. They will be key drivers in developing Energy City Qatar into a world-class energy business centre. I am looking forward to the challenge and to seeing Energy City Qatar take shape.”
A graduate from Fleetwood Nautical College, Mr Moore has acquired various qualifications in communications engineering. His skills span leadership, management consulting, project management, strategic sourcing etc.
The appointment of Mr. Moore follows the recent announcement of the constituting of an International Advisory Body for Energy City Qatar, featuring eminent global experts.
