POWER-GEN Middle East

Posted: 4 December 2006

Exhibitors continue to confirm their commitment of attendance at the forthcoming POWER-GEN Middle East Conference and Exhibition 2007 to be held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre from 22 to 24 January 2007.

POWER-GEN Middle East is the region’s leading conference and exhibition dedicated to the power generation industry and with the rising economic growth and prosperity in the Middle East, demands for power and energy are on the increase.

Leading national and international companies already confirmed include ABB, Siemens, Ansaldo Energia and GE Energy, whilst new confirmations include Oman Cables, Flow Serve, Jurmat Group / Shams Al Sabah and Exxon Mobil, making POWER-GEN Middle East a truly must attend show.

Growth at an unprecedented rate

The commencement of the GCC Grid Interconnection project has wide ranging implications for the region and beyond. The International Energy Agency forecasts the need for an additional 269 GW in the region by 2030 at a cost of $458 billion and predicts Saudi Arabia and the UAE to have the fastest growth rates in the period to 2010.

Bahrain in particular is experiencing a rapidly growing demand for electricity and water. In response, the government has announced it will privatize the power and water sector in five years causing a buzz of excitement in the industry.

POWER-GEN Middle East is a great opportunity for the power generation and transmission and distribution industries and provides a unique platform from which the market can develop to meet the region's power requirements, share information and conduct business in a face-to-face environment.

With over 100 exhibitors and over 4000 expected visitors from over 50 countries, POWER-GEN Middle East has become the most important annual meeting place for international power executives with interests in the Middle East.

The conference offers leading international speakers discussing a range of topics, looking at both strategic opportunities and technical issues, whilst the exhibition provides a display of the leading products and services and advancements in technology, making the event an important date in the diary of the power industry executive.
