Qserv wins prestigious safety award

Posted: 23 May 2005

Qserv, the North East-based wells and pipeline service company, has won the prestigious International Safety Award 2004 from the British Safety Council as a result of its zero accident rates, controlled safety policies and commitment to health and safety at all levels throughout the company.

The awards will be presented at a special presentation dinner at the Grosvenor House in London on Friday 20th May. Dave Staniforth, Qserv’s HSEQ manager said: “The award reflects our continued improvement in safety over a sustained period of time and demonstrates that the systems that we have in place are highly effective. Qserv’s conscientious team have been commended for their hard work as each one had a major part to play in achieving this award for Qserv.”

Qserv’s managing director, Tommy Dreelan, said: “Qserv maintains and operates a stringent HSEQ Management System and since the company was founded in November 2001 there have been zero lost time injuries. Qserv places huge emphasis on safety and it is our main priority in any work we undertake.”

Award winners include large and small enterprises all over the country, from the public and private sectors. Only companies with below average accident rates were eligible to apply and they faced a tough test to satisfy the independent awards panel. In addition to zero accident rates, Qserv had to detail its health and safety officers’ qualifications and provide details of the significant advances it has made in health and safety for the year.

Mr David Ballard, director general of the British Safety Council, said: “The International Safety Awards highlight organisations that demonstrate commitment to health and safety. They are a mark of proven and significant achievement in safety standards.”

Qserv is located at Badentoy Crescent , Portlethen, Aberdeen AB12 4YD Scotland UK . It is focused on delivering results and has an energetic and motivated team. More than £15 million has been invested in the company, which provides local investment in jobs and equipment manufacture.
