Performace Plus wins Queen's Award for enterprise
Posted: 23 April 2005
Leading UK-based specialist consultant Performance Plus has had the success of the performance optimization services it provides to major international companies acknowledged by a 2005 Queen’s Award for Enterprise (International Trade).
Performance Plus is an autonomous business unit of John Crane UK Ltd., which is itself a part of the Speciality Engineering Division of FT100 company Smiths Group plc. Performance Plus provides consultancy and reliability services for rotating equipment in the hydrocarbon processing and chemical industries, with a particular emphasis on the areas of performance improvement and supply chain management.
In the past three years the company has more than doubled its export sales to Africa, Europe and Asia Pacific by adopting a marketing strategy that combines an innovative approach, a distinctive and highly effective service, aggressive branding and the creation of strong relationships which align its own goals with those of its customers. Performance Plus has achieved this despite operating in a relatively mature market where annual growth is estimated to be between 1 – 2 per cent.
“We are absolutely delighted that our efforts have been recognised in such a high-profile manner,” comments Managing Director Nigel Beaumont. “Performance Plus was born out of a recognition by its parent company, John Crane, that the needs of its major markets were evolving. Customers were looking for significant improvements in asset performance at reduced costs and a different approach was required.
“Since Performance Plus was established in 2000 we have developed genuine partnerships with a number of global oil and gas producers to satisfy those needs. We have also created genuinely innovative financial models under which we are only rewarded after we meet stringent targets for the performance improvements we generate on behalf of our customers. The success of this approach reflects the depth of skill, experience and knowledge we are able to draw on, both from within Performance Plus itself and within our parent company.”
