Aker Kvaerner awarded Union Resources Mehdiabad study

Union Resources has selected Aker Kvaerner Australia to undertake the bankable feasibility study for the Mehdiabad Zinc Project, a world-class oxide, sulphide and mixed oxide/sulphide zinc, lead and silver deposit in central Iran.
The study, valued at approximately USD 2.6 millon, will include both the development of the 160,000 tons per annum capacity zinc metal oxide plant and the 340,000 tons per annum capacity zinc metal sulphide plant.

The study will be managed from Aker Kvaerner Australia Pty Ltd's Brisbane office and will utilise resources from several of Aker Kvaerner's international offices, including Toronto, who have been working in Iran for over 15 years. A comprehensive study report is expected by the end of February 2005.
