Posted: 4 September 2011
Petrofac's Offshore Engineering & Operations (OE&O) business has been awarded two North Sea contracts by GDF SUEZ E&P UK Ltd.
Valued at £30 million over three years with an additional two year option, the contracts were awarded following a competitive tender process.
"We are delighted to be establishing a new relationship in the UKCS with our first contracts from GDF SUEZ E&P UK, having been selected for our comprehensive services capability and extensive experience of delivering projects in the North Sea," said Bill Dunnett, managing director, Petrofac OE&O.
"We will be working closely with GDF SUEZ E&P UK to deliver these projects, helping build GDF SUEZ E&P UK’s presence in the UKCS and cementing a relationship for the long-term."
From August 2011, Petrofac will provide operations, maintenance, engineering and general support services, as well as bringing to bear its extensive North Sea operational experience to support GDF SUEZ E&P UK in the development of its own capabilities in the UKCS.
Petrofac will be supplying all offshore personnel and significant onshore support, creating an estimated 100 new jobs in the North Sea over the next five years.
"These two new contracts represent a significant milestone for GDF SUEZ E&P UK and will help the company to conduct its North Sea operations safely, efficiently and cost effectively," said Jean-Claude Perdigues, managing director at GDF SUEZ E&P UK.
"I look forward to a long and productive relationship with Petrofac as we work together to generate production and employment in the UKCS."
