Champion secures $10million Petrofac deal
Posted: 10 January 2011
Champion Technologies has been awarded a two year contract by Petrofac worth $5million per annum.
The new Federal Contract brings all the chemical service requirements for the Heather, Thistle, Northern Producer and Kittiwake installations together within a single agreement. Petrofac is the Duty Holder for these assets.
The contract has been agreed for an initial period of two years with an option to extend, which establishes Champion Technologies as Petrofac’s preferred chemical partner for UK North Sea operations.
Stuart Mathieson Champion Technologies’ UK business manager said: “This deal is composed of contract extensions – for work on the Heather, Thistle and Northern Producer platforms – as well as the addition of the Kittiwake platform.
“It is a very positive sign that Petrofac is expanding the breadth of work which we undertake and a tribute to the hard work of the teams involved in these ongoing projects.”
The contract scope covers the full range of production chemicals and associated management services. There is a strong focus from both parties on driving continuous improvement by alignment of contract objectives and close collaboration to deliver service and contract excellence.
Champion Technologies is the world’s fastest growing speciality chemical company offering innovative and environmentally acceptable solutions to the oil and gas industry. Corporate Headquarters are in Houston, Texas, with the Eastern Hemisphere Headquarters in Aberdeen and Singapore. Champion Technologies operates across more than 50 countries employing around 2500 people.
The company recently announced the launch of the Bundrant Technical Centre, Champion’s global centre of excellence for Scale Technology with extended laboratories for Corrosion, Hydrates and Analytical work.
