Talent and Emiratisation under ADIPEC spotlight
Posted: 25 October 2010
Talent attraction and Emiratisation will be under the spotlight as two hot topics being supported at ADIPEC (Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference).
ADIPEC will host a two-day Tawteen Graduate Fair taking place from 2-3 November. The Tawteen Graduate Fair will run concurrently with the Society of Petroleum Engineers’ Education Week and also a series of ADIPEC field trips, designed to provide graduates with insight into the region’s oil and gas operation.
The SPE Education Week allows 70-80 top students studying engineering and geosciences or science degree programmes to gain knowledge about the exploration and production industry and learn from and network with professionals in the industry.
ADIPEC will see more than 1500 industry representatives from 89 countries converge for the four-day event and will allow students direct access to HR decision makers from leading national and international oil and gas companies.
"These initiatives provide two-way benefits for students in allowing them to gain first-hand information and make key connections with top-name companies whilst, inturn, allowing energy businesses to tap in to a key pool of youth talent." said ADIPEC event director Hifazat Ahmad.
"Whilst the ADIPEC Tawteen Graduate Fair will provide an excellent platform for the students to understand the industry and peruse suitable employment opportunities, it will also act as a prime opportunity for energy companies to source new local talent from the region’s educational institutes and play their part in the development of Emirati students."
